As we prepare for our first full, beautiful season at Indigo Acres, our little herd is enjoying the final quiet days of winter while we get everything ready for visitors. From fresh bedding in the barn to pasture preparations and plenty of fluffy cow care, we’re working behind the scenes to create a welcoming space for everyone who comes to visit. As always, Nebraska weather gets the final say, but we’re hopeful to open very soon once it decides to cooperate. We can’t wait to welcome you back to the pasture for another season of calm moments, gentle cows, and meaningful memories.

At Indigo Acres, our mission is to nurture meaningful connections between humans and animals by offering a peaceful space where hearts can slow down and soften. Through the gentle presence of our Highland cows, we provide a unique experience for cow cuddling near Omaha that helps guests release overwhelm, find grounding, and experience the quiet magic of a peaceful animal connection — one cuddle at a time.
Indigo Acres offers peaceful, heart-centered cow cuddling experiences near Omaha, Nebraska, on a small acreage. Our gentle Highland cows provide a calming space for grounding, emotional reset, and a meaningful animal connection. Ideal for stress relief, mindfulness, and wellness retreats, it's perfect for anyone seeking a soft place to land in nature. Conveniently located for residents of Omaha, Elkhorn, Gretna, Bennington, and the surrounding eastern Nebraska area.

Not every peaceful moment with the Highland cows happens under blue skies — some of the most heart-melting experiences occur on soft, rainy afternoons inside the barn. When the rain begins to fall, we gather under the roof with our beloved Highlands, settling into the straw as the sound of raindrops patters gently overhead. The air feels slower, quieter, and more intimate — creating a cozy little world all its own, perfect for cow cuddling near Omaha.
The cows seem to sense this tranquility too. They breathe deeper, rest their big fluffy heads a little heavier, and lean into the stillness with you. There’s no rush, no schedule, no expectations — just soft fur, a steady presence, and the rhythm of their calm heartbeat beside you. You can hear the rain, feel the warmth of their body next to yours, and experience that grounding moment where the outside world simply… disappears.
Inside the barn, time feels softer, comfort becomes easier, and a peaceful animal connection often happens in the simplest way — a quiet moment shared between souls, held gently by the sound of rain.
When the weather is kind and the pasture is open, we head out into the field where the Highland cows are most themselves — roaming, grazing, and choosing connection in the quiet, gentle way they do best. Out in the open space, you get to experience these peaceful animals in their natural rhythm: slow steps through the grass, soft snuffles as they graze, and the comforting feeling of being welcomed into their world rather than simply visiting it.
The field gives you room to breathe differently — deeper, easier, and closer to the rhythm of nature. You can sit in the grass beside them, brush their long coats as they relax into your touch, or simply share stillness while they chew contentedly. Sometimes they wander over to lean their warm shoulder against you; other times they lay down nearby and invite you to settle in beside them.
Out here, connection unfolds gently and at their pace — not forced, not rushed, just honest and present. It’s a grounding space where worries soften, time stretches a little wider, and you’re reminded what it feels like to simply be. For those seeking cow cuddling near Omaha, this is a perfect opportunity to experience that serene bond.

The Gentle Observer

Wally enjoys slow moments — standing close by while guests brush his coat, quietly observing the pasture, or accepting a gentle scratch behind the ears.
He’s often the first to welcome visitors and the last to wander away, making him a favorite for guests who enjoy peaceful, unhurried interactions. Wally reminds us that sometimes the most meaningful connections happen in the quietest moments.
